The Right Towels for Your Guests

The Right Towels for Your Guests

Towels are a big deal. Your guests don’t have a front desk to go down to, but you can prep ahead for this. You don’t want them to bother you, asking for more.

We have a set of towels for each guest, and backups in each bathroom. For each guest, give four bath towels. Keep one on the bed for each guest.

Have a basket somewhere for the other extras. Some people like separate towels for hair and body. Some guests might stay a while, so you want to be prepped ahead of time without them having to use the washer and dryer.

We stock our properties with high-quality towels from HostGPO’s Standard Textiles, ensuring durability, softness, and a luxurious feel that guests appreciate. These towels hold up wash after wash, keeping your Airbnb looking fresh and professional. If you’re looking for top-tier linens at a discount, check out HostGPO—along with all of our trusted hosting tools—right here.

Washcloths, Hand Towels, and Bath Mats

Give at least two washcloths per guest. Pay attention to longer stays and offer them a refresh too. It helps keep things clean.

Two hand towels. One you’ll have at the sink, and have one extra ready to go. Keep things fresh that way.

Have one bath mat per bathroom. For safety, you don’t want to put these out for them to use, let them take them out on their own so there are no mishaps from wet floors. Back when working at a hotel, you want to let the guests decide to put this on the floor for use.

Makeup Towels

Offer makeup towels for guests. We use black ones in our properties. Some guests might still use the white ones, but that is part of the cost of doing business.

At the end of the day, a towel costs relatively little in the grand scheme of running a profitable short term rental. Make sure to account for things like this so you aren’t caught up with worrying over them being used by a guest who wants to clean off makeup.

Airbnb Bathroom Essentials: Soaps and Shampoos

Use full-size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Also offer full size hand soap. These are much more environmentally friendly than tiny bottles and they will last much longer too.

You’ll find that many of the guests that want to bring their own, will if they care about it a lot. It gives them a more pleasant and quality experience that you offered those products. They also work best for guests that happen to have extended stays.

Presentation Matters

Get separate, matching bottles. The separate bottles will be easier for guests to work with and you can buy refills that last you longer. Pour the contents of your chosen shampoo into bottles of a uniform look.

Bottles should face forward. You want the guests to feel special by cleaning around the nozzles. Wipe away any leftover soap crusties.

Use clear bottles. A common experience guests have shared from various stays has been the use of dark bottles. You won’t easily see that soap, body wash or conditioner needs to be refreshed.

Toilet Paper and Tissues

Have one roll on, ready to go. Then keep three rolls for each bathroom under the vanity. Then keep some more in a supply closet in case guests need extra for larger parties or lengthier stays.

You might worry about costs and defending your profit, but there is no reason to skimp on things like this. Do not put guests through this stress by not giving them a back up when the first roll has run out. It will likely cause a negative experience for a lot of people.

Don’t Forget Tissues

We learned this one the hard way from getting a bad review a long time ago. Early on when starting the hosting journey, there were no tissues. Put tissues throughout the whole property.

You can get covers on places like Amazon to make them fit in better with the space. Add tissue boxes to your checklists, otherwise you might forget to include it when you do your inspections. It will pay dividends if you do this.

Hygiene Products

It goes without saying, offer your guests other bathroom essentials beyond just toilet paper. Provide things like pads or tampons. They can save guests some embarrassment.

Not everybody will use them, so you will be spared of buying these all the time. Just have them in stock somewhere like you would stock up the extra toilet paper for those lengthier stays. You’ll want guests remembering your listing for its care for the essentials and little things.

Functional Airbnb Bathroom Essentials

A trash can. Yes, your space has to have one. Liners in the kitchen for trash, of course, that is the standard and expected thing for all guests.

Some hosts avoid using them in bathrooms due to how it appears to look. But at the end of the day it can pay off big in the cleanliness of your property. It also is a cost saver.

Cleaning Supplies

Include cleaning supplies. Not just a toilet plunger, have that next to the toilet. You might not want the look of it near your nicely remodeled bathroom.

But at least have it hidden nearby in a cabinet, and of course offer one. When guests go to flush after using the bathroom, if something goes wrong they will appreciate the help. A plunger and brush will also make it so the guest can clean up without asking for help, in an area like that, the last thing they want to call a host for will be something bathroom related and then have to speak of it over the phone.

Get covers. There are covered plunger and brush sets. Do whatever you have to do so they have a method to handle any unwanted bathroom mishaps.

Forgot Something Baskets

The main purpose of offering forgotten supplies helps elevate the Airbnb bathroom essentials that you give guests. Things can happen to people. Maybe a toothpaste, razor or shave cream goes missing. Or perhaps you were hosting your guests a long distance away.

ItemDescriptionReason to Include
ToothpasteSmall travel-sized tubeCommonly forgotten, essential for hygiene
ToothbrushIndividually wrappedOften left behind, important for oral care
RazorDisposable, with shaving creamConvenient for quick grooming needs
Shaving CreamTravel-sized can or tubeHelps with shaving, reduces irritation
Q-tipsSmall packUseful for personal care, makeup touch-ups
Spray DeodorantTravel-sizedProvides quick freshness, avoids sharing issues
Hair TieSeveral, simple bandsHandy for keeping hair out of face
Cotton BallsSmall bagGood for makeup removal, skin care

Put something like this near the front. Be ready for these things by knowing what your listing is like without a front desk to take the pressure off of having these in hand, you should be good. Be sure to not fret the theft.

Over a long enough time, one or a few of your items will cost more to take than whatever cost the item has in it. When you have Airbnb bathroom essentials offered like the “forgotten supplies” offered, your rentals will stick out in their memory. They won’t feel that forgotten or lack of items like toiletries and towels ruined a nice trip. Want to create your own basket and wow your guests with hospitality? Hairdryers

Place the hair dryer in a bag. A quality hair dryer, not something cheaper than the rest of your products offered. Our teams have inspections. They handle it being put away after each guest checks out.

Do not have the spare parts, like attachments and nozzles though, some feel these as being unclean due to sanitary reasons. Focus on the hair dryers themselves and you should see happy customers due to the simplicity. This makes things a better Airbnb bathroom experience.

Boost The Airbnb Bathroom Experience

Think full length mirror elsewhere. When all that is included is what exists in the bathroom. But that will not cut it for guests getting ready in many circumstances.

Use full length mirrors as decorations and hang up a few. Guests need mirrors. Include this, like an entry way mirror when headed out. It does a lot of good.

Other Types of Mirrors

Consider lighted mirrors for some circumstances. For those planning big things with others like weddings or birthdays or something big, have mirrors that have lights. At the least, a smaller handheld mirror, but have more around as an added little touch that speaks to the user.

Hooks

Seriously, one of the biggest items with Airbnb bathroom essentials will be hooks for your towels, for any and everything guests need them for. Plan and place multiple in places where the guests are getting ready after washing and going out or lounging about. Think also about rooms, bathrooms, or general areas in your properties.

They have to store towels somewhere when multiple people are around. Put in plenty of them. It might help for those not sure of whose towels are where and for general hygiene purposes for your space. Install strong ones.

Use strong bolts. 100 pounds or more can do it. You don’t want to install multiple weak ones just for them to keep being ripped off the walls or breaking.

Night Lights

Include a night light or motion detector lights in the bathroom and a hallway for it. Maybe you have them, it’s one of those things a lot of people just forget to check in. If you’re a host, there’s nothing worse than having a great bathroom stay with guests. But for the rest of us, we like to at least have light sensors.

Airbnb Bathroom Must-Haves

Think beyond what you personally want when picking the decor of Airbnb bathroom essentials. A well equipped listing means your visitors will stay again. You need all these ideas to ensure a happy experience. Make sure you make your place, yours by putting your brand’s touch. Title: Top Airbnb Bathroom Essentials For Your Listings
