[00:00:25] Question: Hi, Sarah and Annette. It’s Danielle from Newcastle, Australia. I’m just questioning. I’ve heard you guys talk about to-go coffee cups a lot. I just wanted to know, are they the disposable cups that you’re talking about? I think it’s a great idea, but not sure if you mean to-go as in when they’re leaving or when they’re just going out for the day. I’d love your advice on that. Thank you.

[00:00:56] Annette: I would try to it, but–

[00:01:04] Annette: To-go’s.

[00:01:05] Sarah: It’s funny how sometimes you just mention things off the cuff and– the to-go cups, for example. I never knew it would be such a–

[00:01:12] Annette: I don’t think this is off the cuff though. We tell people you got to get them.

[00:01:15] Sarah: I know. I’ll let you answer her, Annette, but I do want to make of a disclaimer, listeners. I understand–

[00:01:23] Annette: We do get beat up on the–

[00:01:25] Sarah: We do, that maybe it’s not the most eco-friendly for what it’s worth. I guess this is also a spoiler alert.

[00:01:33] Annette: Oh, a what? Spoiler what?

[00:01:35] Sarah: A spoiler alert. We do to-go cups, like, hey, a paper cup with a sleeve and a lid. So whether you’re leaving for the day or leaving your trip entirely, you can take your coffee that morning with you. I do get the kind that you can recycle.

[00:01:51] Annette: Danielle, we love this question though, because, initially, yeah. To-go cups to us was the recyclable ones that they can take if they’re headed out for the day on the town or if they’re leaving your property. It’s time for checkout, but you can also– we’ve done these historically, do branded mugs that are a gift for your guest.

[00:02:12] So make sure that that makes financial sense for you. But those could be considered to-go cups also. We love that. If you’re looking for a way to– I have a mug from one of our listeners, actually. Sarah and I stayed with them a couple of years ago in Texas. I love it that a mug was a gift that they gave us.

[00:02:30] I actually still use it every week. So if you want to leave a mug for your guest to go home with them to use, that’s also a lovely option. You can get those online, buy them in bulk, and leave them for the guest too, Danielle. We think that’s a lovely option also. But the to-go cups, like Sarah said, you can find them where they’re recyclable and made of recyclable materials, and you can buy those in bulk.

[00:02:58] So you just need to leave a few out. You’d be surprised that they don’t get used as often. It’s like our forgot something basket. It’s more of the guests, like, oh, that’s very thoughtful, because you don’t have to leave a whole stack of them. It’s leave a few, and there might be a few guests that a few stays that don’t even touch them or use them at all, but it’s just there if they need to hit the road early.

[00:03:19] Sarah: And I will tell you, it’s on our Breezeway cleaners’ checklists and our inspectors how many should be left out. We don’t put a whole mountain out, so the guests can just go through them.

[00:03:29] If it’s a one-bedroom, one bath, we leave out four. I don’t even count how many nights they’re staying. If they want us to come and bring them more, we’re happy to. I don’t know that we’ve ever received that request, but also I think that’s a good tip that we don’t just leave them an exorbitant amount. It’s controlled.

[00:03:45] Annette: Right. Again, it’s an expense like anything else, but it is super nice.

[00:03:50] Sarah: People love it.

[00:03:50] Annette: Yeah. Because just think, if you’re the guest, it’s time for checkout. Maybe you’re headed to the airport, you’re headed to–

[00:03:55] Sarah: You good coffee.

[00:03:56] Annette: Yeah. You’re headed to just get back in your car, or you’re headed off to a job interview, something like that, it’s really nice to have that ready for your rest, for sure.
